Why ICP Filing Is Required

Creght's Mainland China node is deployed on Alibaba Cloud. If you bind a custom domain and use the Mainland China node, your custom domain must complete ICP filing with Alibaba Cloud according to Chinese non-commercial internet information service filing rules. Otherwise, the site cannot be accessed from that node.

Paid users can choose the Hong Kong node, which does not require ICP filing. For company sites targeting Mainland China users, the Mainland China node is recommended. For personal blogs or portfolios, the Hong Kong node can help you go online faster.

If your domain has already completed filing with Alibaba Cloud, you do not need to file again. If it was filed with another provider, you still need to complete Alibaba Cloud access filing.

Process Overview

If your custom domain needs filing, contact Creght support first. The overall process is: register and log in to Alibaba Cloud, contact Creght for an Alibaba Cloud filing service code, submit the filing order, complete SMS verification from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, wait for authority review, and finish filing.

Before submitting, prepare the required identity or organization documents. Individual filing usually requires an ID document, possible domain certificate, and a handheld ID photo. Company filing usually requires business license, responsible-person ID, and related verification photos. Requirements vary by province.

Detailed Steps

Register and log in to Alibaba Cloud, then contact Creght support from the Contact Us page to request a filing service code. If you purchased an eligible annual plan, Creght may provide one code for free; otherwise a code can be purchased separately.

Log in to the Alibaba Cloud ICP filing system, start a filing order, fill in entity information and website information, and choose the available ICP filing service code under cloud service access information.

Upload required documents and complete authenticity verification on mobile as prompted. Submit for Alibaba Cloud preliminary review.

After preliminary review, the order is submitted to the local authority. The responsible phone number receives an SMS verification message. Complete verification within 24 hours.

After SMS verification, the authority performs final review. Review time varies by province and scenario, usually from 1 to 20 working days. You can check progress in the Alibaba Cloud ICP filing system.

After filing is approved, your domain can be accessed through the Mainland China node.
